Warkworth has an impressive medieval castle rising above the pretty hamlet and is almost completely surrounded by
the River Coquet. Boat hire during the summer provides a wonderful opportunity to study the magnificent flora and
fauna, seals and otters.
Just four miles from Alnwick, Alnmouth rests on the estuary of the River Aln. This pretty village is full of natural
beauty. Sailing enthusiasts have yacht and small boat moorings available to them within the sheltered estuary. Alnmouth
remains a beautiful and interesting village that is well worth exploring. There are a variety of restaurants, pubs,
coffee shops and gift shops for the discerning visitor to enjoy. Two golf courses are available in Alnmouth. The
original golf course, which has 18 holes, was formed in 1869. Designed and created by famous golf professional Mungo
Park, it is the second oldest golf course in England.
